Advent atmosphere and regional arts and crafts
During the Mallnitz Mountain Advent, the BIOS National Park Centre in Mallnitz also becomes a special part of the Advent village. Inside the centre, craftspeople and regional exhibitors showcase their work and products – ranging from handmade items and woodturning to incense, honey and candles.
The Advent market at the BIOS is free to enter and invites visitors to look around, discover and browse during the Mountain Advent opening hours.
Explore the national park and get creative in the Wichtelwerkstatt
Admission to the interactive exhibition ‘univerzoom nationalpark’ also includes a visit to the Wichtelwerkstatt. There, visitors can make crafts and create things using natural materials, whilst numerous interactive stations bring the wintry world of the Hohe Tauern National Park to life for young and old alike.
Children can get actively involved: during the ‘mouse hunt’ in the ball pit, they playfully slip into the role of a fox and discover how wild animals find food in winter and cope with the cold season. At the Christkindl Post Office, they can also send their Christmas wishes on their way.
Even more to experience at Bergadvent
On every opening day, Bärbl Bartgeier invites you to a family guided tour of the exhibition at 3 pm. A separate charge applies for the guided tour (to be paid on the day): Adults: €4.00 | Children: €2.00 No booking required.
On selected Sundays, the workshop ‘Making fire the old-fashioned way’ is also on offer. Children aged 10 and over and adults can learn about historical techniques and try for themselves how fires were lit in the past.

The workshop is not included in the ÖBB Erlebnisticket and requires separate registration at nationalpark@ktn.gv.at.
