Kunsthaus Bregenz – Experience art in a unique architectural setting

The Kunsthaus Bregenz (KUB) is one of the most significant international institutions for contemporary art. The building, designed by Peter Zumthor, is regarded as an architectural masterpiece: grey concrete walls, soft skylight and open, spacious rooms create a distinctive atmosphere. Here, art can be experienced more intensely, more directly and more personally than in many other exhibition venues.

With every exhibition, the Kunsthaus poses fundamental questions about our perception – about the relationship between humanity and the world, the impact of art and our own sensibilities.

Highlights

  • Unique architecture by Peter Zumthor

  • Atmospheric spaces that offer a new way of experiencing art

  • A particularly intense, personal encounter with art

  • Renowned international artists and major temporary exhibitions

Program 2026

With KOO JEONG A, Cyprien Gaillard and Torkwase Dyson, Kunsthaus Bregenz 2026 presents three artists who are completely rethinking spaces and perception. KOO JEONG A is exploring the boundaries of our senses at the KUB until the end of May. This summer, Cyprien Gaillard explores urban spaces and methods of exclusion through installations and a completely new film work. Torkwase Dyson explores the connection between body, space, nature and infrastructure through painting, sculpture and performance. As one of the highlights of the year, performance artist Florentina Holzinger, Austria’s representative at the Venice Biennale, is developing an Étude – created especially for Bregenz and Lake Constance. There is only one date: Saturday, 11 July 2026.
