Explanations on accessibility
Introduction
Rail Tours Touristik GmbH endeavors to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) as amended to implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 of 2.12.2016, p. 1).
Status of compliance with the requirements
The website is largely compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at compliance level AA and with the European standard EN 301 549. We have taken extensive measures to ensure that all content and functions of our website are accessible to people with different abilities. This includes:
Full keyboard operability of all interactive elements
Meaningful alternative texts for all information-bearing images
Sufficient color contrast according to WCAG 2.2 Level AA
Compatibility with common assistive technologies (screen reader, voice control, etc.)
Responsive design for different screen sizes and enlargements
Clearly structured content with semantic HTML
We work continuously to maintain the accessibility of our website at this high level and carry out regular checks.
Non-accessible content
PDF voucher (non-compliant content)
The booking vouchers (booking confirmations) generated by our system are provided as PDF documents and currently do not fully comply with the WCAG criteria in terms of structure, alternative texts for embedded graphics and machine-readable tags for screen readers. WCAG criteria affected: 1.3.1 (info and relationships), 1.4.5 (images of text), 4.1.2 (name, role, value) Alternative access methods: All essential voucher information is also included in your booking confirmation email in accessible HTML format and can be accessed as an HTML page in your customer account. Measures: We are working on a technical solution to automatically generate accessible PDF vouchers. This requires an adaptation of our booking system and PDF generation.
